broken sliding glass door latch

Our sliding glass door latch is broken. If you lift the latch to unlock the door, it doesn't unlock. We can't get the door opened. Any ideas on how to fix it?

Tough one, is there a brand name on the door?? You may be able to remove the part that goes thru the door and unlatch the mechanism from the hole in the door. Then you can figure what is broken. Forcing it will only break more things. If in doubt, call someone that knows.

air gap between storm door prevents front door to close

Hi Everyone -- When the glass panes are in the storm door, our front door will not close unless you really shove it hard. When the screen is in the storm door, the front door closes easily. I assume that the air pressed between the two doors prevents the door from closing easily. The front door seems to be hung well. Any ideas? Thanks!!

i replacing my kitchen window .i know how to measure it buy will i need to mess with the outside trim at all or can this be done with only removing the inside trim . it is a standard double hung window about 45 yrs. old. im planning on reusing the old inside trim thanks for any advice
