Bookshelf Door

I am in the process of finishing some unused space and in one area, I want to have a hidden door as a book shelf. I have it all drawn out pretty much. My question is on the hinges. If it is a fully functional bookshelf, I'm going to need some durable hinges. Any recomendations?

Anderson 200 fixed sash removal

I have 200 series sliding windows. I wish to remove the fixed sash so I can pass sheetrock thru it into the basement. Can anyone advise me how to do it or if it's recommended to leave it fixed. Thanks Randge

should nails be used to install window capping?

Our wood replacement windows were wrapped with aluminum capping. When we had this work done in the past to different windows on the same house no nails were visible on the capping. This last job the installer nailed the aluminum capping on all four sides of the window. I I don't recall ever seeing it done like this. Is this a correrct way to install capping? Wouldn't the nail holes allow water to penetrate the capping and possibly lead to rot in the future? Thanks, Dave
