How to remove Caulking?

Can someone help me? I want to put some caulk around my windows. When it starts getting hot how can i remove the caulk around the windows?

A cheap caulk won't adhere as well as a quality caulk will but I wouldn't bank on it. IMO it would be better to use weatherstripping!

If it is the old type caulking that has hardened, you have to dig/scrape it out. A heat gun might soften it somewhat, but never use a torch. Too easy to burn down the house. When recaulking, use a siliconized latex caulk like DAP. It never fully hardens so it breathes with the house, and can be painted over. Most silicon caulk can't be painted.

Look for peelable caulk. I got some at Ace that looked almost like silly putty. It's called "Ace Rope Caulk Weatherstrip". It worked great on my old windows. Went on with my hands and came up easily.
