Talking Bilco high-density polyethylene Basement door --

My 1st post--- I just bought a great littel home built sometime in the 30s-50s - not sure --- the garage has a Double seater Out house behind it.!

Anyway, Has anyone installed one these new Bilco high-density polyethylene Basement doors???

....Accroding to ron seems straight forward:

I have never done one of those, but I suspect they are easier to handle than the steel version, and likely install the same way. I wonder about them from a security aspect. Bilco surely thought of that also, they make a good product.

I'd be concerned if you have a roof overhang that might be susceptible to ice from ice dams falling down on the door.
