Schlage dead bolt Broken?
I have a double cylinder Schlage dead bolt. The key spins around the inside the lock on the inside only. The outside will lock and unlock. We have 5 entry doors to our home and would like to keep one key total. Is there a way to fix a dead bolt aftrer this happens? I have gotten the screw caps removed already and am able to get the lock out. Another question, can I get a new lock keyed like the existing?
Thanks
Thanks

Hi harp
Its probably the connecting pieces between the cylinders. Take the parts to any locksmith shop, they'd probably be able to fix it for a few bucks.
If not, then, yes, you could buy a new deadbolt and have it re-keyed to match the existing keys. You could have that done at the same locksmith shop, or go to any good hardware store/home center for a few bucks less.

I went to Home Depot and bought a new Schlage lock. They fitted it for the same key for no charge! I spent only the cost of the lock. I would suspect that Lowe's would do the same. Thanks for all the help. I'll come back often and do what I can to help others.
