Marble Window Stools

I live in Florida where interior windows are basically un-trimmed holes in the walls. They are dry-walled with marble sills/stools. I want to trim out the windows and install wood sills. Are the stools fastened with adhesive? How much damage can I expect to do trying to remove them?

Welcome to the forums!

I used to live/paint in fla. The better houses I worked on had marble sills. The cheaper ones used tile or wood so you may want to rethink your plan.

If I remember correctly, they were usually installed with thinset or grout. I don't know if you can remove them without any breakage.
