Exterior Patio Door too tight

My patio door (exterior door) is very tight to the upper frame of the opening. It's not the because of the change in temperature (winter vs summer) cause I've been having this problem for the last couple of years (in both seasons) and have just let it go.

My question is do I shave the top of the door or the top of the door frame where it's tight ? My guess is the door has to be shaved but since it's an outdoor one, it has some steel to it. How do I shave that off ?

It could be that your header is sagging, and is taking the top frame of the door with it. The best thing to do would be to sight across the top of the door frame and see if this is the case. It the top is sagging, you'd want to remove the interior and exterior trim, remove nails from the nailing flange, and shim the door back to straight.
