tinting v double-pane windows

How close can I come if I just tint to realizing the same degree of efficiency with energy-efficient double-pane windows? We are in a 50's house.

Tinting a single pane 50's window will gain you virtually nothing, other than a slighty darker room.

Replacing or retrofitting that window with a vinyl or fiberglass dual pane window will make a WORLD of difference.

You won't notice the difference if you do just one window, but do the entire house, and you'll see energy savings in the range of 25%. And the NOISE reduction will simply amaze you!
