Window Sash Pivot Pin Broke **Pics Incl**

First, thank you for taking the time to read my post. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I searched through the forum and found some info like what the piece that broke is actually called but haven't been able to find out much more. Not sure if I broke the pin or what but I noticed it wasn't staying open. While I was taking the window out to look at it the broken pin fell out. I think the first thing I need to figure out is who makes the window so I can order another pin. I don't see any manufacturing info anywhere on the window. The house was built in 2005.

I'm also assuming that there isn't any other way to fix the pin besides replacing it. I ask because this is a rental of mine and I'm leaving town in a couple of days. I wanted to fix it before I left but if not I'm ok with that. I appreciate the help.

Hi Cassidy,

It's not a quality window, like Pella or Andersen. It actually looks like a window you'd find at the big box stores. Why don't you take the pin with you and visit a couple of places and see if you can match it? If there's any of those "Window World" or similar that's probably a better shot.

Perhaps someone else will come along soon with a better answer for you.

It's called a pivot bar and is used by many manufacturers so you really don't have to know the manufacturer of your window. Take the broken pivot bar to your local glass shop or window dealer and they should have it or can order it.
