Door stop on pocket door?

I am finishing some pocket doors I installed in my basement as part of a basement finishing project. Is it customary to use door stops on the strike jamb or the top (split) jamb?

I use stop molding on either side of the door strike side, mainly for privacy issues. Usually quarter round or square stock does well, just enough for the door to seat. You can carry that molding around on the top split to make it look more uniform.

how do i put a single french door in leading to basement?

hey friends when my contractor finishes my basement, i plan to take out the 30" door (6 panel masonite...with 3 hinges in place) leading down the basement steps and replace with a glass french door...can it be as simple as buying a door with no hinges and lining up the existing hinges or do i need to buy a pre-hung door and rip out the old door and frame...i'd obviously rather not do this if possible do i need to chisel out for the hinges too...or do these french doors come already with hinges....i guess they come both ways thanks bam :confused:

Operator acts likes it is stripped but it isn't. The problem is the worm gear backs out of the housing. It is retained by a nylon bushing, a spacer and is suppose to be held by the housing. Is this just press fitted into the housing? I tried to crimp by striking with the blade of a screwdriver, it didn't hold. Should I try welding it or just be more aggressive with the crimping? :confused: :confused: I know I can just buy the replacement, but I would rather repair it.
