casement window latch

I took the latch off a casement window some time ago and I can't remember exactly how to reinstall it. Help!!!

You say "some time ago". Did it give you time enough to lose any parts, or are you sure you have them? You may want to post a couple of pix of the window and the latch and we can help. Some are more complicated than others. Post them on a site such as photobucket.com and give us the urls or copy/paste the HTML code in your next post.

restoring finish on front door

My front door faces the south and is in need of work. I was told that I might be able to clean it and apply 3 coats of spar varnish. It has become faded from the sun. I have cleaned the door as was recommended with Krud Kutter but now it has areas where it looks like the stain is really light. So do I need to restain the door and if so, what is involved? I am a single woman but have some prior experience with home improvements. Thanks.

Pocket door install help

I'm on dial-up and the searching is slow going, so I figured I'd ask if somebody happened to know of a site or something with a diagram of how a pocket door is framed. Do they require a header twice the width of the door? I've never installed a pocket door before and I'm looking forward to it, but I'd like to know a little about what I'm getting into. :D ~Jeffrey
