what kind of door for pocket door?

what kind of door for pocket door?

I am getting ready to hang a pocket door. should I use a hollow core door or a solid door? thanks

Depends on the hardware you have. If it's typical Stanley stuff, then I'd use a HC. If it's quality like Johnson, you could use a solid door, no prob. Depends on how much money you have and what the usage is?

It is the stanley stuff. And the instructions say it can handle a 150# door. Do you think this is a problem? What kind of problem would I have with the stanley? thanks

I would never use anything but Johnson hardware, and you can hang any door you like. Their 1500 series will handle a door up to 60" and 200lbs. Available at some HD stores, but many are dropping it, Chineese junk is cheaper. Best to stay with the type door you have throughout the house.
