Casement Windows -- Window Fan
Hi,
I have a 20's era home with steel casement windows. I'm trying to find fans that I can install (temporarily in the summer) in the windows on the 2nd floor to exhaust hot air to, hopefully, to pull cool air in through the windows on the 1st floor.
I've considered a whole house fan but it just won't go with the style (Tudor Revival) of the house.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

It's gonna be really difficult to find something that will fit the entire opening, since it opens up so high. And even if you could find a fan, you will have to fill up the space above it with something, and it may not be very attractive. If you can find a fan, then youi could cut a piece of 1/4" luan to fit the space above it. One draw back would be if it rained, you would have to remove the filler and fan in order to close the window. Whole house fans sound so nice, and you should be able to configure venting for it that will leave the original appeal of the design.
