Uninstalling spring hinge

While trying to replace the rubber weather strip on
the bottom of my laundry room door, i found i had to
remove the door. The problem i have is the hinges are
'spring hinges with a star bit fitting in the top and
what looks like a adjustment bar sticking out one side at the top. How do i separate the 2 half of this hinge to lift this door off

On the side of the hinge you will see a smaller allen head screw. With a matching allen/torx wrench placed in the top of the hinge and held firmly, slowly release the allen screw until the wrench completes its cycle, tighten it back up and reset the wrench to do it again until all the tension is gone. Don't separate the halves, but remove the screws on the door half and take the door down. Once you put it back up, re-tension the hinge so it will close properly.
