Replace mortise lock and entry door set
How would I replace an old mortise lock and entry door set with a new, modern set?
Or do I have to replace the door? Would using a door reinforcer help at all?

There are specific kits for this purpose.To some degree it would depend on the specifics of your existing lock but with measurements etc you should be able to find a kit that will work.I'm not sure big box stores would carry these but locksmiths and old time real hardware stores might.Plus there would be knowledgeable people to help you.
