Question

window shelves

Hi, I'm trying to run shelves across a picture window to hold glass dishes etc. We had shelves there with L brackets attached to the wooden cross pieces of the wooden inserts. We have a new window that has no external cross pieces. I wanted any ideas on how to brace the centers without using wood pieces between the shelves. Thanks, Pappy321

Try to find some clear doweling. Maybe even the rods they use for cake decorating?

aside from getting the wrong size windows,what are some of the more common problems contractors are confronted with when replacing windows? rotted wood>? where is wood usually rotted? rooted frame??ect... same question but with patio doors?

Converting double hung windows to doorway

We have a cottage that we want to convert a double hung window to a doorway opening. Below the window frame is chamferboards. Can we remove the window and cut the chamferboards (timber lining planks) without any structural carpentry work needed?
