Please tell me if this is a major framing no no

Hi,

I need to add a door to a room, and the only logical place is in the corner of the room.

Below is the current framing. It has a diagonal support beam. I am guessing this is for support for earthquakes and horizontal forces on the house.

Here is what I plan on doing. The door frame header is a 4x6. My question is will I be jeopardizing the structure of the house.

I appreciate the feedback thanks for your help.

You should be ok with this, but, as always your permit department will have the last word. I would check with them, since it is California, as there may be other things you have to do in order to have the door, other than moving the brace. Don't forget the kick board at the bottom of the brace, if there was one on the original.
