Automating casement windows?
Hello,
I have casement windows in my home and am trying to find out a way to automate or mechanize them so that I can open them remotely without having to actually hand crank the windows. Does anyone know of any kits that can be added to the cranks of casement windows to automate them. It seems to me that there should be a remotely controllable motor available somewhere that can be simply attached to the crank mechanism?

Andersen makes a remote controlled automatic opener for their skylights and roof windows which I believe works on their casements also. Keep in mind that you have to run power to each unit that you want to control this way and that this is usually accomplished on the rough, before sheetrock.
