How does the end come off? Have plenty of screen in the piece attached to the jam.

What kind of retractable screen? There are about 5-7 different makers that I know of. Have you tried their website?

If your home was built pre 1950's, you may have original roll screens. My company, Elite Rollerscreen Specialists, specializes in repairing the vintage roll screens as well as fixing the current retractable screens. If you took pics that could help. I might be able to help you if it is a new screen.
