Wood Entry Door
Hi,
I have a solid oak wood entry door that would be a sin to replace, but it is quite old possibly original with the house (30 years). From a security standpoint having that solid door in place it is reassuring but the design of it being just a solid wood door is less than appealing. Just searching for thoughts on what I could do. I would love to find someone that could somewhat redesign the door keeping its core purpose. Please offer your insight on what options I may have.
Thanks

A pic would help, but 30 yrs is not old, sorry. There are ways to make that door more energy efficient, and dress it up. As suggested above, adding trim can do a lot to change the appearance.

Why contemplate revamping the door when it's unnecessary. Security wise, adding a iron security door will do more than changing the door and/or frame. Don't be fooled, overall the average home is an insecure place. If you want to be secure acquire a big mean dog or a weapon. (The security door/gate will slow entry. It won't stop anyone that's determined. And it certainly won't stop gasoline and a match).

there is a company based in AZ, I found when doing some research last year for a customer, that specializes in high quality wood doors.
do a google search for "Craftsmen-In-Wood".....some excellent ideas and products there.
Better yet....try this
