My mother-in-law has a mountain condo that she uses for rentals. She could get more for it if she could bump up the bedroom count. It is huge but only technically has 1 bedroom. There is one room in there that is large but has no windows, just a door. It does share a wall with a large sunroom. If I could put an egress sized window between the two it would be a bedroom and actually rather nice. The nice thing about a condo complex is that they have plans and I spoke to the manager. It's 2x4 wall with nothing load bearing and no insulation, being interior. It is some distance away and I'd like to finish this in one weekend. If I could just cut to the window size and work the support pieces in through the hole. That would save sheetrocking, texturing and such. I'd need to put a 3 1/2" lintel on top and a 1 1/2" cap on the bottom so I'd have to remove that much from the 2x4's in the wall. Are there any easy ways to do this? I've been thining about drills and sharp chisels but that's is not fast. Steve

I just purchased an older home and I would like to put in a new entry door but the opening only measures 34 inches. I was hoping to get fiberglass for energy saving reasons - does anyone have any cost effective suggestions for replacing my irregular sized door? Thanks in advance.
