Storm Door Problem

All the other windows have been replaced except this one (and the two smaller windows flanking it) and the bathroom window (which is in great shape). The interior wood is all black, the wood coating (varnish? shellac?) is peeling up (or gone), and someone put some silicone in there. I'm replacing the caulking on the exterior as we paint the exterior trim, so wondered if now was prime time to try to fix this. How big of a job is this? Are there better options? Tips? Suggestions? Potentially helpful stats: Age: 1960's 51.25" Wide from frame edge to frame edge (excluding flanking windows) 52.75" Tall from frame edge to frame edge Solid wood (Oak? Maple?) Aluminum "track" between panes?? Doesn't appear to be sealed enough to have gas between the panes, and no indication of a "gas leak". Full-fledged replacement isn't an option right now, but relatively inexpensive fixes are definitely something we can manage. Or we could just clean it up and refinish it, if that's a realistic option.

I'm trying to reglaze my bathroom window and the window in our garage. The glass and frame are intact (and I want to keep them that way!) but the glazing is coming out in chunks.....well, mostly. Anyway, I am partway through breaking the un-loose glazing in the bathroom window and wondering if I even need to be doing that? Or can I butt the new glazing up to it? Also, I watched [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf_NseHvPVM"]this video[/URL] on youtube, which showed a guy using a glazing product in a caulk-like tube. Would something like that work better for a novice than the typical Dap 33' (I think that's what I have) in the tub which seems to stick to everything BUT the part of the window I want it to stick to? And is it supposed to be so.....mushy? It won't hold it's shape at all, and is a royal pain to mold into anything between that and the sticky factor. Using mineral spirits just makes it slimy, and disintegrates it. :wall: Thanks for your help, I'm really getting annoyed with this whole glazing project.
