After replaced the carpet with laminate floor. It leaves about 2in gap from the floor to bottom of the door. Someone recommended to add a piece of wood but I'm afraid it won't look good. We have hardwood floor in livingroom so whatever they say, it comes thru my room :-(

A couple of thoughts.
If you have forced hot air heat and no return in that room, then you are relying on some of that gap for return air.
The carpet would have deadened some of the sound so the gap is not entirely at fault and reducing it may not reduce the sound as much as you would want.
If you can essentially close the gap, some door sweeps, like used to weather seal exterior doors might work.
Some doors are fitted with a kick board at the bottom. You might be able to add some wood at the bottom and then disguise/cover it with something that covers the lower 6" of the door.
A threshold can be added to take up some of the space.
And last, you may be able to match the wood close enough so it will not be noticeable.
