Cracked wood frame door.

I screwed in a temporary wood block to prevent the door from opening.
I know its a stupid way.

I'd replace the whole side jamb.

Is there a proper way to remove the jamb?

The best way to remove the frame is, of course, remove the door, remove the trim boards on both sides, inside and out, insert a reciprocating saw into the crack and cut the nails. The frame will practically fall out without damaging the surrounding area.

Thanks Chandler.

One more thing, the old door is made from masonite. At this time I cant afford a new door replace. Is there a way from the door being kicked and
screwdrivers?

Will using a metal sheet and drill onto the jamb work?
