Question Adding Interior French Doors?

Our home office has a wide opening with no doors. I would like to add some French Doors to add a little privacy and sound barrier. The opening is 58 inches wide. How should I go about finding and adding these doors? Thanks!

Opening

I am not seeing the opening to which you refer.

Locate the prehung door unit you want at a building materials supply store.
Verify the framed opening dimensions required for the unit.
Remove drywall to expose existing framing so you can tie in new framing.
Frame the opening. Install drywall. Install door unit, trim, and door hardware.

If the opening you mean is the one that is trimmed with the casing and rabited jambs, you might be in luck.

You didn't give a height measurement, but it's possible that when you remove trim and sheetrock you will have room for a 5' door. Otherwise you will need to frame the opening down using standard construction techniques and use a 4' door.

The opening is visible on the left side of the picture. It has casing all the way around - just no door. I'm hoping I can fit a 60 inch door in there.

Even if you remove the casing I doubt you'd have enough room for two 30" doors.
