storm door voids exterior door warranty?

I bought a fberglass exterior door at HD the other day, picked out a storm door, and the guy helping us said that a storm door would viod the warranty for the other door, because of too much heat build up, I would have thought these doors would have been tested to higher extremes than the temps here in New Hampshire, I have never heard of this, has anyone else? Any help on this would be helpful Thanks, Andy.

It may be true if the storm door is a full glass or mostly glass and tightly seals to the frame. Also..it depends on how much sun the doors get. If it's fully protected and gets no sun..then it shouldn't be an issue.

I went to a house for a customer complaint on the finish peeling. Dark blue door, full glass storm with no porch or overhang...got probably 6 hrs of sun a day. Measured the surface of the door at 180 degrees or so IIRC. And the day was only about 80-85 air temp. Do that for a while and I wouldn't doubt it could delaminate.

To be sure...call the customer service number of the FG door...and don't paint it a dark color.

What gunguy said. Any dark door facing south might have a problem. Any other exposure is not an issue, and in your clmate, usually not an issue anyhow.

Yeah just heard of that myself, my plastic adjustable sill cracked on my Stanley bought HD door and the plastic actually got so hot it shriveled up. I have no idea where to purchase these two parts, but its not covered under warranty

If you posted your actual location you might get more suggestions or assistance since this related to climate since both Florida and Alaska are in the USA, but have different conditions.

He stated New Hampshire in his OP.

Speaking of that though, How do I change my location from simply USA? I cant seem to find an option in my settings.
