trying to source specific cabinet door hinges
Hi,
I ma trying to replace some hinges that have rusted out on my boat. The boat builder does not use the hinges any more and their supplier does not carry them any more. I was hoping to find another supplier who makes them so that I have the least work to do and can use the same holes/slots. The hinge type may be called a butterfly or knife hinge I think as I have seen reference to both online.
The door wing attach's to the back of the door and the frame wing attach's to the outside of the cabinet and is covered by the overlap. There is a small groove cut out of the door to accommodate the barrel (not that there really is a barrel). This groove goes all the way through the cabinet not just a recess in the inside of the door.
If you PM me I can send you an image of the hinges (left and right versions as the countersinking is different for both).
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me,
Moray

I have to go to work now so I cant look around, but the specific type is called a 'pivot hinge'.
Should be able to get a lot of hits in a search. Finding some in solid brass for a boat sure adds to the chase.

@oldblades - thanks for the info. I can definitely see that this type of hinge is the right one. Unfortunately I don't se any in the configuration that I need. Lots to look through though
