Storm Door/Threshold
Hi,
I purchased a new storm door and threshold and am wondering which to install first. After looking at it for a bit I am thinking that the storm door needs to be installed first and then the threshold.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I'll have to double up on Ray.....why was the threshold torn 0ut for a flooring installation? Why did they leave it like that? Sounds as if you had a bad day at black rock with the installers.

That's a little strange because the threshold most often is nailed or stapled up from the bottom into the doors jams. And the flooring should have been just run up to the old threshold.
Was the area in front of the door rotted out?
If it was, there's a reason for it. Is the stoop or deck run level with the threshold and that area is uncovered?
If it is then the door really needed to come out and a sill pan be added to stop it from happening agin.
Jamsill Guard Door & Window Sill Pan Flashing I'd buy an adjustable threshold not one with the rubber seal curved over the top of it that's going to keep poping out and ripping.

Our house is 70 years old. It appears that at some point in the past there was some redesign to the front door area and particle board was used as sub-flooring. Over time the particle board began to deteriorate causing the whole sub-flooring to be replaced, hence the need to tear out the threshold. I told the man who installed the new sub-flooring that I would take care of the threshold.
To date I installed a new threshold and installed the storm door minus the door closer, that will be done this weekend.
Thanks for the comments and advice!
