closing up a window

My mom has an old brick sided cape that has been remodeled several times. The second bedroom downstairs was turned into a bathroom. The toilet is currently in front of one of the windows, which now looks onto a deck. We would like to enclose this for storage and privacy reasons. Finding matching brick will be difficult, so I was looking for alternatives. We intend to reframe and insulate the opening, not just cover the window. I have been thinking stucco with a decorative piece or possibly closed shutters hanging on it. Any thoughts on this, or other ideas appreciated.

Welcome to the forums! I understand what you want to do, but unless you put matching brick in the same tie pattern, it will always look like a patched over window. The fixed shutter idea would not be a bad one. It will still look like a window, you won't have to find matching brick, and you could go ahead and finish the inside with insulation, etc.
