door hieght

my existing doors are 78 inches is there any where that i can buy them or does any one have any ideas

You can special order them...or cut the bottom off of a stock door if you have the tools.

You will have to reinforce the bottom after you cut it, either by ripping new wood to fit, or cleaning up the piece you just cut and removing the "skins" then re-inserting the wood with glue and a couple of finish nails on the side.

Be advised...stock doors are full size in width (36", 32", 30", etc). You may have to trim the sides to fit your opening.

width is good . so just cut 2in. off bottom and rip the jam by 1in. wish somebody stocked these seems like a common problem ?

In some areas they do. Depends on the most common construction in the area.

I know it seems simple...but you might want to check on the special order price...sometimes it's worth it to avoid all the issues.

Big box and lumberyards usually stock 78" interior doors. Otherwise, what he said
