I have this beautiful engraved door knocker, but I am not sure how it should be mounted. I have a steel door, and really don't want to drill holes in it. Can you tell me if there are other alternatives to mounting the door knocker without drilling. It was given to me as a Christmas Present, and I really need to get it mounted soon.

No way around it. For a knocker to resonate it must be attached to the door. That helps create the vibration and sound. Gluing with a PC7 Epoxy paste may do, but it would be just about as permanent.

If you like it, and the person who gave it to you, drill it and go. However, can you hear it from around the house? Some people will knock and NOT use the doorbell and chime. In my home my dogs would tell me anyway. But you may be creating a problem.

You could always put it on your bedroom door - get some privacy... Good Luck!
