Pocket/Replacment Window HELP!!

Attached are the windows I would like to replace with pocket.replacment windows.

Am I able to remove the existing Shashs without touching the vinyl siding? Is this type of window a contender for pocket windows?

Thanks for the help!

The pictures are pretty small, and it's hard to tap on a picture or look behind the finish trim on the bottom... but it looks to me like you have a builders grade aluminum window with a nailing fin behind the vinyl siding. I would suggest you order a new construction window that is exactly the same size as what you currently have, then remove the vinyl siding around the window, remove the entire existing window, and then replace the window and reinstall the siding exactly where it was before.

You could also trim around the new window with a sill nose and some face trim... then put new j-channel around the new trim and cut the siding back. (if you want trim, that is.) I'd be worried about rotting sheathing or siding under the bottom corners of the window. Be prepared for that.
