Who installed my sliding glass door?

Hello forum,

I recently bought a house, and am trying to learn about all the different fixtures, features, etc. I'm interested in figuring out who manufactured and/or installed the sliding glass door that leads to our rear patio? I have looked the thing up and down, but cannot find any manufacturer's sticker. Perhaps it's hidden behind something that needs to get popped off or unscrewed?

All I have to go on is the etchings in the glass. This is one opening with 2 "doors" (one slides, one is stationary). I found the following markings on the glass:

On one:
Guardian Carleton, Mich
ANSI Z97.1-1984
SGCC 933 I/8U
-----------------------
16 CFR 1201 II
CAN 2-12.1-M79
SAFETY TEMPERED

And on another:
TEMPERED
16 CFR 1201-CII
ANSI Z97.1.1984
1/80 SGCC ∅ 1436
AFG D 1130
------------------------------
BS6206A

The Metal spacer between the pane of glass says: ECKER IGCC ® CBA 88

This lead me to call Guardian Carleton. But they informed me that they just manufacture the glass. They don't install, and they cannot provide me with a list of local distributors/installers in my area (northeast NJ).

The previous homeowner isn't any help. I've checked the upper jamb, but couldn't find any sticker. Is there a standard place where they put this info?

Thanks.

Most likely place would be on the side of the traveling door that faces the strike. You'd only find mfg. of unit.....not who installed it. A few pictures would also help. Someone may recoginize the style or type of unit.

If the windows and glass door are original to the house, see if you get any clues from the windows. Normally the windows and sliding glass doors come from the same place in new construction.

A picture of the door and maybe of the door handle and latch might help... etching on the glass means nothing, with the exception of Andersen's.

Maybe the best way to find out is to start cold calling local installation companies. If you call one and they didn't do it, may be they know who did.

Curious.....why do you need to know who installed it? You may never find that out without searching through the builder's records. Maybe he can tell you who he used.
