How Can I Replace the Locks on these Windows?

Hello:

These windows are old but they are in pretty good condition. hey are double paned horizontal sliders. The problem is, I am missing two of the locks for these windows. I inquired with the manufacturer, MI, about replacement parts but I haven't heard back yet. The two generic pieces available at Home Depot that I tried did not fit. I would like the locks not so much for security, but for the fact that they create a tight seal between the windows and minimize a draft.

Do you have any ideas about how I can replace these lock pieces and/or otherwise deal the the security and draft issue? Thanks.

Give the manufacturer a chance first. Are there any numbers on the locks?

This is a very common lock used on many older aluminum windows and simple to replace. You might be able to get them at local glass shop. Here are some styles: Hung and Sliding Replacement Sweep Locks and Keepers : SWISCO.com
