removing Kwikset door lever with no visible pinholes?

I am trying to remove an old Kwikset privacy door lever. I was able to unscrew the inside lever and remove it entirely, but the front one did not come loose. I cannot find any visible slots or pinholes at all. The only possibility is a hole in the front of the lever, but no amount of poking with anything seems to have any effect. I can't find any how-to videos or articles that show this type of lever. Any ideas? Thank you.

It's likely being held on by the dried paint I see all around the rose. Give it a light tap. Occasionally the handle will need to be twisted to free it from the latch.

elbow grease worked

It took a LOT of "tapping" with the hammer (and a LOT of faith that I was doing the right thing, along with a LOT of disregard of the final dented shape of the old lever) but it finally popped off. Thanks

Here's the new one in place:
