Garage door stuck, need latch removal help
Hi,
The door in the back of my garage is stuck shut. I've gotten the doorknob off, but cannot undo the latch. I can't get the door off of its hinges until this is done, nor can I access the other side of the door (can't force the garage door open as it's motorized!)
I don't know what brand/style of latch this is, but I have pictures:

I can take and post other angles as well if they would be helpful.
If possible I'd like to avoid the hacksaw method, just because I'm worried about accidentally damaging the door in that case.
Thanks for any help you can give me!

He can't access the other side. The motorized door lift is not the problem, It's the man-way door.
You could use the break-in/theft method. From the outside of the bay door use a long thin piece of steel and put it under the outside door at the top where the release bar attaches to the inside if the door. Then push against the release bar to allow manual operation of the door. You now have access to the opposite side of man way door.

Norm,
This thread is over four years old. I would have hoped after all this time that the OP is not still trying to get into his garage.
