Putting the trim pieces in an aluminun picture window - ARGHHHHH!!!!

I had to remove the window and reframe the sides and I got the window reinstalled everything nice and square and plumb. I just need to put back the aluminum "trim" pieces on the four sides of the picture window.

OK this is what the trim piece looks like. I remember when I took it off it took some finessing.

So how do I put it back in? I tried and the outer lip of the trim wouldn't go inside the front edge of the inside flange. I can't use anything that would scratch the finish, and I can't push too hard or I might break the glass.

@#$%^&*()(*&()_)(*&^%$#!!!

Is there a trick? I spent almost 2 hours and going no where!

HELP!!!

You say you had to remove the window. You didn't change the glass, did you?

I would guess you need the help of a block of wood and a hammer. Start at one end and snap it in, (glass side first) working your way up. You can't snap both ends of the stop in and work toward the middle... you have to work from one end.
