Can you install a window made for 2x6 contruction on a 2x4 frame?
on the face of it, I'd say no, but this is coming from someone who is not used to this type of thing.
I have a couple of windows leftover from an addition I had done.
The problem is that the addition was built on 2x6 construction, which is what the windows are made for, and the remainder of the house is 2x4.
Didn't know if there was way to retrofit it or something.
Making things more complicated, is that the house has non-standard window sizes (31 1/2 x 61 1/2).
if possible, it'd allow me to save a few bucks!
thanks.

Aside from the odd size (W x H) you can cut the jamb extension (the inside part) down, all around by snapping a line and chasing it with a circular saw, down to 4 9/16".
