replacement windows with old storms?

I have 1980s era wood double hung windows that appear to have an integrated storm window system. the storm system also includes the screen. it does not appear to be an "add-on" storm system. I think they are "weatherhandler" brand windows although I'm not sure. the ony way to remove the storm windows would be to do a complete tear out of the entire existing window frame as it's all part of the same unit.

can I replace the sashes with standard off the shelf jeld-wen replacement windows from menards?? If I did that I would then have two screens, so something doesn't seem right.

a bit confused on what to do with these nasty old windows.

Posting a picture of the inside and outside might clear up what you have.
There's hundreds of different styles it could be.

Window Sashes

I did it. I have wood window frames. I purchased sash kits which included the sashes and track. Installation time was about 30 minutes for each window.
