I may be mistaken, but I think I recall a post in this forum 2 or 3 months back that said Acorn windows was out of business. You might check back into the older threads and see if that is not correct. It could be that you will have to go with some other mfgr. who has a window similar to Acorn's.

my husband and i purchased an aparment that have acorn windows 3300 series. the mutton tape disintegrated betweeen the panes and they look awful. the windows are sliders. does anyone know if the glass is replaceable?
if not i will need to replace the windows probably with vinyl. i have about 120 windows 6x4 ft. any recommendations?

Hello,
Did you have any success in finding Acorn windows or replacements for their windows. I have some of their insulated windows and am unable to replace a pane as no local glass store apparently cares to perform the replacement.
Also with Acorn single hung windows, without removing the screens from the outside, how does one remove the screens and keep the aluminium guide rails screwed in? I unscrewed one top and I find it almost impossible due to the angle to get it screwed back on. There is a plastic tab that is under the screw that keeps the sash from going up to the top. With the tabs in place I cannot get the screens out since the sash is in the way.
Any ideas would be appreciated!

Solution to replcaing screens
Acorn style 3300 windows are single hung tilt windows. I should have fiddled more before trying unscrewing the guide rail. The tilt window allows easy access to the screen. Using fiberglass screen and 0.125 diameter spline you can easily replace the window screen material. Acorn is out of business and the Chinese company Crystal does not support the Acorn windows, so don't break 'em!
