Hi everyone I want to install some bifolding doors in my basement to close off the laundry room area. There is a short fully dry walled hallway leading to the laundry room with no door jamb. There are studs I can tap into under the drywall in the walls and ceiling I believe but I don't really want to tear down dry wall to frame in the door. The opening is 50 inch wide by 76.5 inch tall. I bought two 24 inch wide bifolding doors and trimmed them to the correct height. What I was thinking about doing taking the baseboard off the wall and trimming out about 3-4 inches for the doorway. Then I would buy a two 1 inch thick and 3-4 inch wide mouldings and nailing them through the drywall into the studs in the walls from floor to ceiling on both sides of the hall. Then I would put the baseboards back down up to the doorway and install the bifolding doors. The doors have a track that I would install in the ceiling through the drywall into the stud. And then a pivot point which installs into the floor and through the moulding and drywall into the stud. The floor is laminate over subfloor and then concrete Does this sound like it would work? Does anyone else have an idea how to install bifolding doors without a door jamb? I was only able to get by doors that were 24 inches wide so together they are 48 inches. So I thought I could use the 1 inch thick mouldings to fill in the gaps.

Got new wood windows in the spring, i live in Michigan. Where the glass meets the wood on the interior side, are you supposed to caulk or seal it? With 0-10 degrees F they are condensating a little bit and worried about the water getting in between the wood and glass. Already have the humidity cranked way down to 28% to reduce the condensation.
