Welcome to the forums Brian!

I think you'll have to go to a thicker door, any reason you can't make that work?

You won't find a 1 3/8 metal door. You can get them in solid core composite or wood, that's it.

What is the usage and why do you desire metal?

Its to go from garage to patio. The patio does have a roof on it. I'm not a carpenter that's why I just wanted to make it simple. How long will an interior door from home depot last ? They are made of made out of a plastic type stuff.

No, they are made out of a pressed hardboard skin...sort of like thin pegboard with wood around the edges. Might last a couple of years...maybe. But very easy to break in to if anything of value is inside.

IF an interior door is protected from the weather and IF it is sealed on all 6 sides, it might last a long time BUT as Vic stated it isn't very secure [easily broke thru] and has no insulation qualities.
