Removing a spring plunger on a windown screen

I look around on the web, and found a youtube video on installing a spring plunger. However, I can't find any instruction on removing a spring plunger? Any advice? Appreciate the help.

The cap is made to force fit into the plunger. You can try using one pliers on the plunger tip and a pliers on the cap and pull. If you're lucky it may come apart with no damage. If you're replacing the plunger, then it doesn't matter so you can break the cap.

It seems the local big box stores do not sell spring plungers. It seems the newer screens all move to other types of devices to kep the screen in. Is it possible to simply upgrade my screens from spring plungers to something more popular, assuming that I can utilize the existing hole in the screen frame.

Any local shop or hardware store that makes or repairs screens will have them. Many online window repair sites also have them.
