window trims hallow inside and ants

SO I am repainting some of the windows and removed some of the sealant that was covering the gap between the window and a trim under it. So I inserted my scraper inside and all this ants came out and the alot of wood crumbs. So I wanted to know whats the best way to seal the gap inside and outside?

Not sure what you removed, but you may be removing all your trim to treat for termites or ants first, then you may need to make repairs to window components or framing. Closing the ants/termites in won't stop their destruction.

If it's caulking you removed, you'd recaulk with siliconized acrylic latex caulk BUT you need to kill the insects and repair/replace any damaged wood first!
pics would be helpful - http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html

I removed the caulking. And the ants were inside. i have a ant problem all around the house. They are having fun inside my woods and also coming inside and partying in my kitchen. So whats the best way to kill the ants permanently as possible and not harming environment too much or people.
