door seal / weatherstripping

Hi,

I need to replace the weatherstripping on the door between the mud room and garage. Previous owner's dog shredded the bottom of it. It is a steel door and when I pull on it, it is very tight - will not budge. Granted if I really yanked holding with pliers, I am sure it would rip/come out. Question is what is the replacement? Afraid that it wont match anything at HD or Lowes. Lord knows everything in this house so far has been "unique" - and it is only 1993!

Very common item at any Box store, lumber yard, hardware store.
There's a narrow strip on the back side that slides into the grove milled into the door.

Those tiny holes in your pictures are for tacks/brads that are holding the stripping in place. You will need to remove these nails in order to release the weatherstripping. The only difference between the standard weather stripping and what you have, is that yours is magnetic and will pull the door tight to make a good seal.

You not going to be able to pull those nails or narrow crown staples without destroying the jamb.
I'd use a nail set and drive them in.
