Vinyl windows bending/showing gaps

Hello all;

A couple years ago i bought my house which was in foreclosure. One thing nice about my house is it has these custom white vinyl windows. The only issue is they seem to be warping/bending on the edges, especially on the front of my house which faces the sun during the afternoon.

Last year i cauked the inside and outside of the front windows, and it looks like ill need to cauk them again. What concerns me is the inside of the window is starting to show gaps where i previous cauked. I hope the window isnt falling out.

Is this normal? Should i just recauk the windows every year and forget about it? Or is this a sign of trouble? I dont get why the previous homeowners chose vinyl - it seems to not do well in hot weather, and I live in phoenix where it can reach 120 degrees.

They look like flush fin windows, and the fin itself is very thin. If the stucco gets hot it will warp that fin. You could check to see if there are any installation screws that could be added to the frame. Dark colors around vinyl windows are a bad idea since it causes the window to get too hot.

Thanks for the response. You are probably right the border does look like flush fin windows. I'm tempted to save up my money and in 5 years replace all the windows, at least the front ones facing the sun. Dont ask me why, but the previous homeowners replaced all the windows EXCEPT 1, so i have this black metal window that really sticks out. So maybe it would be better to start from scratch and get quality windows.

Vinyl is popular because it's cheap to produce, and there's a bigger profit margin to be made. Not necessarily good.
