Removal of roller style windows
Hi All, I have Eastern Metal HR style windows and I want to remove the rolling sash for washing,has anyone ever been able to accomplish this?i have enclosed some pics.Geo

You open the window slightly, put one hand on the left side and one on the right and then lift the sash up. Once you have lifted it up, you can tilt the bottom of the sash into the room and then pull the top of the sash out of the frame.
I believe that in your bottom picture, there is a shipping block still in place. Its a removable piece in the top of the window jamb that should just pull out. If that's what it is, it would prevent you from removing the sash, if that block was above the wndow when you try and lift it.

You were pretty much on the money, I contacted the mfg. and there is an anti lift block installed on the top right so you slide the window completely to the left leaving room for your left hand, then pick the window up and remove it bottom first.

It may be different back East...but those are normally called slider windows in most places. Just saying.....
