Violation from HOA , Front windows need muntins

I received a violation letter from my HOA , the previous owner of the house installed vinyl windows that didnt have the "grid" / "muntins".....

I am thinking of just adding Vinyl grid to it

can someone tell me what the standard width of the muntins? Should it be 5/8" or is it 3/4"?

any other advice on how to handle this? Besides moving =\

How about telling them to pack sand since it was that way when you bought it? If they wanted to act they should have done it when the prior owner was having the work done.

The grid would probably work, but why should you be out of pocket?

I hate HOA's.

I agree with Vic. They approved the windows when they were installed, so they can't "unapprove" them all of a sudden. There is no "standard" width, and we couldn't tell you anyway, since the HOA is requiring them, let them tell you the specifications they require. That is, if you want to comply with their request.

Wouldn't hurt to personally read through the CCR's to see what it says. Sometimes HOA admin people make stuff up as they go along that are nowhere in the CCR's.

Just get some white masking tape and put it on the inside of the windows. I bet nobody will notice.
