Door kicked in - how to repair damage ?

Hi everyone,

A follow-up question with some pictures:

My door was kicked in, resulting in a splintered door jamb:

Do you think gluing it back together with wood epoxy or wood filler would hold strong enough?

I would glue it back together with wood glue.

That said, there's a lot of damage there, it's going to take more than just glue.

Hi, Re. strike plate. Take the strike plate to a Safe and lock store and get a longer strike plate maybe 4 or 6 inches. That will cover the damage and give you solid wood to work with.
Good Luck Woobutcher
