Door sticking inside jam
had to replace both hinges on an interior bedroom door. There was an over the door coat rack on the door before but now the rack hits at the top inside jam. I have found advice on how to move the top of the door up on the striker side , but can't find anything on how to adjust the inside top of the door down.

Door
1. Shave off the top of the door. (or)
2.Sounds like the hinges need to be remounted higher on the door. (Or lower on the jamb)

When the door is closed and you are standing on the hinge side of the door, how does it line up along the length of the latch side? Is there a nice even gap of 1/16-1/8" from top to bottom? And what about on the hinge side? Is the door tight against the jamb anywhere? Or is there a nice even 1/16-1/8" gap along that entire side too?

Hi, If the device you have is attached to the door with two brackets that that fit over the top of the door and the device hangs on the two brackets put the device on the door where you want it then mark the top of the door where brackets are, remove the brackets and simply notch out the top of the door where the brackets were.
